Abstract:

This is the baseline dataset from an open-label, randomized, active-controlled, multi-centre non-inferiority trial conducted by the University of Nairobi. The trial enrolled 296 participants ≥60 years old into the BMD monitoring population from among people receiving outpatient HIV care at one study site in Kenya. The variables contained in this dataset are: demographics, ARV history, baseline laboratory investigations (HIV-1 RNA viral load, creatinine, aspartate aminotransferase, alanine aminotransferase, hepatitis B surface antigen, and complete blood count) and bone mineral density from dual-energy x-ray absorptiometry.
