Abstract:

These tabulations are the basis of the tables in the paper Replication Data for Nominative Linkage of Records of Officials in the China Government Employee Dataset-Qing (CGED-Q) in by Cameron Campbell and Bijia Chen in Historical LIfe Course Studies (2022). These include tabulations of names, surnames, and other primary and secondary attributes of officials recorded in the CGED-Q JSL, as well as tabulations of discrepancies in attributes between records of the same official in the same edition. The tabulations are presented as cumulative percentages in descending order of frequency. In addition to the tabulations that are the basis of tables in the paper, we also include a tabulation of characters appearing in two-character given names of officials in descending order of frequency. Please see Campbell and Chen (2020) for details about the origins of these tables. Please also cite that paper if you make use of any of the material in these tables.

Time Period:

1762-1911

Notes:

Please see Chen et al. (2020) for more details about the China Government Employee Database-Qing (CGED-Q).
