Abstract:

This dataset contains all population settlements in Ghana used in this study, based on the Geo-Referenced Infrastructure and Demographic Data for Development (GRID3) and High Resolution Settlement Layer (HRSL) data. Columns and their unit are: 1) type (BUA, SSA, or hamlet), 2) "Area_km2" [km^2], 3) "Region", 4) "District", 5) "Pop2020" as absolute population numbers in 2020, 6) "PopDen_2020" as population density in 2020, 7) "Num_hosp" for number of hospitals located in the settlement, 8) "Dist2Grid_mtr" as distance to the electricity grid [mtr], 9) "Dist2Light_mtr" as distance to a light source [mtr], 10) "Households" as total number of households located in the settlement. All georeferenced files have the projected coordinate system EPSG:32630.
