<p><b>Description:</b><br /> R-band Extinction maps from Cambr&#233;sy (1999) (<a href="http://adsabs.harvard.edu/cgi-bin/nph-bib_query?bibcode=1999A%26A...345..965C">ADS link</a>). Star counts are from R-band images from the digitized POSS and ESO red plates. In the image to the left, the contour is a A_v = 5. </p> <p><b>Telescope:</b><br /> <a href="http://archive.stsci.edu/cgi-bin/dss_form">STScI Digitized Sky Survey</a> </p> <p><b>Status:</b><br /> Finished</p> <p><b>Sampling:</b><br /> N /A</p> <p><b>Areal Coverage:</b><br /> 83.4 Sq. degrees</p> <p><b>Map Center (Galactic):</b><br /> l = 353.7648 <br /> b = +15.5785</p> <p><b>Map Center (J2000):</b><br /> RA = 16:32:47 <br /> Dec = -24:46:16</p> <p><b>Comments on Resolution:</b><br /> This extinction map uses an adaptive grid, providing increased resolution in areas with a large number of stars. </p>
