Abstract:

The study aimed at automating the triage process using a pulse oximeter. The data set consists of raw pulse oximeter signal recordings and clinical data of children presenting at the outpatient department of Mbagathi County hospital. The clinical data contains demographic information, clinical signs and symptoms, and followup outcome (hospitalization). The data was collected by the study nurse using an Android tablet with a pulse oximeter from children awaiting to see the facility clinician. The study nurse followed up with the study participants to find out if they had been hospitalized.
