Abstract:

Data from immature red-footed boobies (age 1-2 or 2-3 years) collected during January 2022 at two colonies within the Diego Garcia Atoll, East Island (7.23°S 72.42°E; 1,113 breeding pairs) and Barton Point (7.23°S, 72.43°E; 9,269 breeding pairs); and in January 2023 at Nelson’s Island (5.68°S 72.32°E; 3,300 breeding pairs). Birds were tracked with Argos/GPS PTT loggers (2022: n = 10, 17 g GPS PTT-100 Satellite Transmitter Microwave Telemetry, Inc., 5 fixes per day; 2023: n = 17, 16 g PinPoint GPS Argos Solar, Lotek, 9 fixes per day). GPS and Argos data have been combined and interpolated to 4 hour resolution using the R package Animotum, considering spatial error around fixes of different quality. <br>
