Description	The Bangladesh Climate Change Adaptation Survey (BCCAS), Round I contains data on 800 farming households. It provides information on demographic characteristics, social capital, land tenure, crop and livestock management, input use, extension, incidence of climatic shocks in the last five years and adaptation options. The survey was conducted from December 2010 to February 2011, covering data from the previous production year. It covers households in the 7 broad agroecological zones a s grouped by the Bangladesh Center for Advanced Studies. (2014)

Sampling Procedure	The sample unions were selected to represent the various agro-ecological zones of Bangladesh. More unions were selected for the larger AEZs. Twenty agricultural households were randomly selected for each sample union (one village each union), making 800 the total number of households interviewed. It should be noted that if a sampled union is actually adjacent to another union that is already in the sample and they belong in the same AEZ, it was discarded and was drawn again.

Weighting	The sample was designed to be reasonably nationally representative, based on an agroecozone stratification. One of the main issues about developing weights is the population census was quite old, and there was never a census that specifically looked at farm households. Therefore, it was difficult to come up with proper weights.
