NWP data are produced by the meteorological research code Meso-NH, developed by the French research community. Existing data include a total of 496 daily-based simulations in the period between years 2017-2019. Each simulation extends over the full island of Corsica with a 600X600m space resolution. Time resolutions vary between 10 minutes and 3 h depending on the day considered. Each simulation is initialized using the 00:00 UTC forecast large scale fields from AROME or ECMWF, which are used as boundary and initial conditions, suitably interpolated. Each simulations starts at 00:00 UTC and covers the following 42h. Future simulations will be developed in a similar fashion, with variable space and time resolutions. (2022-07-05)

Notes
| NWP results are post-processed to retain the meteorological variables relevant for the study. Saved outputs include the ground fields of temperature (°C), pressure (Pa), water vapour content (kg/kg), cumulative rain precipitation (mm), turbulent kinetic energy (m2s-2) and horizontal wind components (km/h). All results are stored in the NetCDF4 format, which contains a straightforward description of the contained data (matrices tensors dimensions, variables names and stored measure units). Results from future NWP simulations will be stored in an analogous fashion. |
