Description
| This is a replication dataset for the manuscript titled: "A field bioassay for assessing ivermectin bio-efficacy in wild malaria."
The files contain survival dataset for insectary cohort mosquitoes exposed to different concentrations of ivermectin and followed up for 28 days including wild mosquitoes followed up for 14 days post exposure as well. The nature of data is binnary and data was collected by recording 0 for no mortality and 1 for each individual mortality event. The goal was to determine mosquitocidal effect of ivermectin administered in sugar alone compared to blood and later administered in different mixtures of blood and sugar mixtures with an aim of developing a field friendly bioassay for assessing ivermectin bio-efficacy in wild malaria vectors. The different datasets are grouped as ivermectin spiked in sugar (glucose solution), ivermectin spiked in blood, ivermectin spiked in different mixtures of blood and glucose solution of varying ratios (Blood to sugar) 1:1, 1:2, 1:4 and 1:8. Mealsize estimation file contains dataset for individual mosquito weights (in milligrams) obtained after being fed on either: 1) blood; 2) glucose solution; 3) 1:1 blood to glucose mixture; 4) 1:2 blood to glucose mixture; 5) 1:4 blood to glucose mixture; or 6) 1:8 blood to glucose mixtures. Species ID by morphology and PCR are dataset for the wild mosquitoes identified to species complex by microscopy and at sibling species molecularly by PCR methods respectively. |
