This visual map index provides outlines of each map in the Beauplan Map Library. Map outlines are provided as both .shp file and .kmz file .zip datasets. Using GIS applications such as ArcGIS, QGIS, and Google Earth, the outlines can be superimposed on modern maps of the region. Clicking on a particular map outline provides a link to the associated map in the Beauplan map library, thereby facilitating the selection of Beauplan maps that cover specific regions of Ukraine and surrounding territories. For convenience, the .shp file and .kmz file datasets are broken down into three categories corresponding to three different region sizes covered by the Beauplan maps: General, Regional, and Dnieper River regions.
