The Galactic Plane Infrared Polarization Survey (GPIPS) covers 76 sq. deg in the Galactic midplane between 18° <= l <= 56° and -1° <= b <= +1°. It uses H-band (1.6 microns) linear polarimetry to determine magnetic field orientations in the plane of the sky near dense molecular clouds. The full GPIPS data set will contain almost 6 million stars, with about one million of those having high-quality photometry. The link to the homepage of the GPIPS survey can be found here.
