This is the Astronomy data repository at Harvard. It is currently open to all scientific data from astronomical institutions worldwide. Administration and support is provided by the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics (CfA) in collaboration with Harvard Library (HL) and the Institute for Quantitative Social Science (IQSS). Infrastructure is provided by Harvard University Information Technology Services.

The Astronomy Dataverse Network plays an important role in fulfilling your Data Management Plan requirements (e.g. as mandated by NSF), and for providing data re-use and citation opportunities. Find out more about our team by exploring the Seamless Astronomy and Wolbach Library teams at the CfA. We are also connecting the Astronomy Dataverse to the indexing services provided by the SAO/NASA Astrophysical Data Service (ADS).

Jan 7, 2015 - Andromeda Galaxy H_alpha Study Dataverse
Azimlu, Mohaddesseh; Marciniak, Ryan; Barmby, Pauline, 2014, "A New Catalog of H II Regions in M31", https://doi.org/10.7910/DVN/C9X1BU, Harvard Dataverse, V2
H_alpha continuum subtracted images of M31. The original data is from Philip Massey, "A Survey of Local Group Galaxies Currently Forming Stars" , http://www2.lowell.edu/users/massey/lgsurvey/index.html . The original data contains 10 fields. We had to divide each field into smaller sub-regions to be able to run HII-phot (a code to identify and char...
Nov 16, 2014 - Roman river warships Dataverse
Schäfer, Christoph (ed.); R. Aßkamp (ed.); Günther, Hans Moritz; Wawrzyn, Alexander Christopher, 2013, "Replication data for: Projekt Römerschiff: Nachbau und Erprobung für die Ausstellung ’2000 Jahre Varusschlacht’", https://doi.org/10.7910/DVN/23995, Harvard Dataverse, V2
How fast to roman warships sail and how useful is the sail if the wind comes at an angle? In order to test the sailing and rowing characteristics of Roman warships, a series of experiments was conducted. The bases for this is a roman riverboat of the type "Oberstimm" that was reconstructed in Regensburg in full scale. This boat was equipped with a...

Sep 30, 2014 - Ionized wind and rotating disk-like system associated with G345.4938+01.4677 Dataverse
Guzman, Andres E.; Garay, Guido; Rodriguez, Luis F.; Moran, James; Brooks, Kate J.; Bronfman, Leonardo; Nyman, Lars-Ake; Sanhueza, Patricio; Mardones, Diego, 2014, "Slow ionized wind and rotating disklike system associated with the high-mass young stellar object G345.4938+01.4677", https://doi.org/10.7910/DVN/24060, Harvard Dataverse, V3
We report the detection, made using ALMA, of the 92 GHz continuum and hydrogen recombination lines (HRLs) H40$\alpha$, H42$\alpha$, and H50$\beta$ emission toward the ionized wind associated with the high-mass young stellar object G345.4938+01.4677. This is the luminous central dominating source located in the massive and dense molecular clump asso...
Sep 8, 2014 - CfA Library Datasets Dataverse
Frey, Katie, 2013, "Unified Astronomy Thesaurus", https://doi.org/10.7910/DVN/FHMUTT, Harvard Dataverse, V6
The Unified Astronomy Thesaurus (UAT) is an open, interoperable and community-supported thesaurus that unifies the existing Astronomy & Astrophysics thesauri into a single, freely-available open thesaurus for astronomical objects and concepts. These files introduce the UAT and describe the unique combination of conditions that lead to its developme...
Aug 27, 2014 - SPT Galaxy Cluster Followup Dataverse
Bayliss, Matthew; Ruel, Jonathan; Stubbs, Christopher; Stalder, Brian, 2013, "2011 SPT-GMOS Redshift Catalogs, 1D+2D Spectra, and Imaging", https://doi.org/10.7910/DVN/2HV6OF, Harvard Dataverse, V7
This dataset includes ASCII catalogs with coordinates and redshift of spectroscopically-measured galaxies, as well as the 1D and 2D spectra and all available optical imaging data and the mask definition files (MDFs). A README file is also provided that describes the different files and the filename conventions used.
Aug 24, 2014 - Vinay Kashyap Dataverse
Kashyap, Vinay, 2014, "Spectrum Ultimum Capellae", https://doi.org/10.7910/DVN/27084, Harvard Dataverse, V1
Capella is the strongest coronal line source accessible to Chandra. It has been cumulatively observed with gratings for over 1.2 Msec thus far. The accumulated spectrum represents astrophysical ground truth for atomic physics calculations that is unprecedented in quality. We analyze co-added spectra from ACIS-S/HETG, ACIS-S/LETG, and HRC-S/LETG to...
