Peer, Limor; Orr, Lilla; Coppock, Alexander, 2021, "Replication Data for: Active Maintenance: A Proposal for the Long-term Computational Reproducibility of Scientific Results", https://doi.org/10.7910/DVN/JLLFGK, Harvard Dataverse, V1, UNF:6:Ird3+2khwKAxjNVflHd2qA== [fileUNF]
Computational reproducibility, or the ability to reproduce analytic results of a scientific study on the basis of publicly available code and data, is a shared goal of many researchers, journals, and scientific communities. Researchers in many disciplines including political science have made strides toward realizing that goal. A new challenge, how...

Johnston, Travis; Wozniak, Kevin, 2021, "Replication Data for: Framing Effects and Group Differences in Public Opinion about Prison Pell Grants", https://doi.org/10.7910/DVN/OTN7GQ, Harvard Dataverse, V2
After years of gridlock on the issue, a bipartisan group of Members of Congress has proposed legislation that would restore eligibility for inmates to access Pell Grants. Evidence indicates that college education programs in prison reduce recidivism and, consequently, state corrections expenditures, but legislators in prior decades feared that vote...

Barnes, Tiffany D.; Beall, Victoria D.; Cassese, Erin, 2021, "Replication Data for: American Party Women Redux: Stability in Partisan Gender Gaps", https://doi.org/10.7910/DVN/MSC8DO, Harvard Dataverse, V1, UNF:6:6NTlg5bU2udosMY3qbZP9A== [fileUNF]
Despite ideological sorting among partisans, as of 2012, gender gaps over policy preferences persist within political parties—particularly among Republicans. Republican women report more moderate views than Republican men across a range of policy areas. These gaps are largely attributed to gender differences in beliefs about the appropriate scope o...

López, Matias, 2021, "Replication Data for: Assessing the risk of democratic reversal in the United States: A reply to Kurt Weyland", https://doi.org/10.7910/DVN/EM2GAO, Harvard Dataverse, V1, UNF:6:2hgpCBT510Hvp/O0oYN4xA== [fileUNF]
By replying to Weyland’s comparative study of populism—published in the 18(2) edition of Perspectives on Politics—we revisit optimist perspectives on the health of American democracy in light of existing evidence. Relying on a set-theoretical approach, Weyland concludes that populists only succeed in subverting democracy when institutional weakness...

Cammett, Melani, 2021, "Political Science Scholarship on the Middle East: A View from the Journals", https://doi.org/10.7910/DVN/EIKB8U, Harvard Dataverse, V1
Based on an original dataset of all articles on the Middle East in major political science journals during the last two decades, we assess trends in publishing on the region to explore whether it remains underrepresented in political science, as some claim. We focus on the evolution of the total share of MENA-focused articles, research topics, meth...

Levine, Adam, 2021, "Replication Data for: Single Conversations Expand Practitioners' Use of Research: Evidence from a Field Experiment", https://doi.org/10.7910/DVN/PXLWBZ, Harvard Dataverse, V1, UNF:6:ecGL5dOs/n8YfctBSkQSqw== [fileUNF]
Many people seek to increase practitioners’ use of research evidence in decision-making. Two common strategies are dissemination and interaction. Dissemination can reach a wide audience at once, yet interactive strategies can be especially beneficial because they entail back-and-forth conversations with practitioners to clarify how research evidenc...

In 1991 a group of political scientists led by John Wahlke helped redefine disciplinewide standards for the undergraduate political science major, providing recommendations for key structural elements to be adapted and incorporated into political science programs of all types and sizes. This paper uses the department's capstone course to examine how four curricular changes impacted student learning. Adopting methodology from the literature, student transcripts are used to discover the curricular paths to the capstone; syllabi are used to discern the skills that students should have acquired along that path; and then the capstone p...
