This Dataverse hosts data from the State Policy Responses to COVID-19 (SPRC19) project.

SPRC19 seeks to document as completely as possible all U.S. state policy responses to the COVID-19 pandemic. It includes all policy actions originating from the executive (governor’s office as well as executive agencies), legislative, and judicial branches.

We will add other data resources and downstream products from SPRC19 as they become available. Other users are encouraged to share related data or products from SPRC19.

We are also collecting data from governor's Twitter accounts to archive communication and information sharing via that medium.

The primary SPRC19 data collection is lead by Frederick J. Boehmke, Bruce Desmarais, Jeff Harden, (co-PIs) with the support and hard work of our GRAs Tracee Saunders (Iowa), Ishita Gopal (Penn State), Taegyoon Kim (Penn State), and URAs Danielle Beavers (Iowa), Jacques Gonnard (Notre Dame), Abbie Eastman (Iowa), and Liam Kaboli (Iowa). Work was conducted with a National Science Foundation award for "RAPID: Collaborative Research: The Diffusion of State Policy Responses to the 2019 Novel Coronavirus" (awards #2028724, #2028675, and #2028674).
