On December 28 and 29 2019, we obtained 17 male and 17 female last-level (counting from soil level) cladodes which length ranged from 19 through 25 cm, from individuals identified and tagged by their sexual form in our previous studies. The collected cladodes were less than eleven months old, that is, they grew from buds produced by the mother clad... |

We present a mathematical model to solve an Optimal Control Problem for the optimal energy allocation to growth, reproduction and the production of defensive substances in plants. The substances produced repeal herbivores. |

Morphometric traits, presence and load of Coccidia in faeces, in individuals of Junco phaeonotus from two habitats (farmland / cropland and fragmented forest) from Nevado de Toluca, Mexico, in the years 2018 and 2019. The dynamics of the meteorological variables and of the monthly and daytime bird number and parasite prevalence and load in individu... |

Plant optimal defense hypothesis (ODH) predicts higher levels of defenses, lower damage, and lower investment in vegetative biomass in more costly sexual form and/or younger plant parts. The resource competition hypothesis (RCH) predicts slower growth, lower concentrations of defenses, and greater herbivory levels in more costly sexual form. In our... |

On March 18, 2017, we traced two 30 m wide, 300 and 430 m long transects, on the sidewalks in the CAD Botanical Garden. From February 18 through June 19, 2017, we counted all blossoming O. robusta plants found within the transect, and determined their sexual form based on flower morphology. |
